Register for Our Watch’s webinar for a solutions-focused discussion about wise practice portrayal of men and masculinities in media reporting in order to prevent violence against women.

From moving away from stereotyped portrayals of men in all media reporting, to considering how best to portray perpetrators when reporting on violence against women, this session will support you to put a gender lens on your reporting – whatever the subject matter.

The webinar will be launched by Dr Stephanie Lusby (Respect Victoria) who will introduce findings from the Willing, Confident and Capable report. Natalie Russell, Sector Development Lead at Our Watch, will moderate the panel.

Webinar details

In this session we’ll explore:

  • the latest research on engaging men in violence prevention work
  • evidence-based messaging strategies to support men to see themselves as part of the solution
  • practices for effectively keeping perpetrators in view without glorifying their actions or causing additional harm to victim-survivors.

This webinar is essential for journalists, media professionals, and communicators who want to enhance their reporting and contribute to meaningful change.
