This report summarises the findings of an online survey Our Watch commissioned to explore young Australians' attitudes about pornography. It also highlights key priorities for governments across Australia to consider as part of their role in addressing the harmful impacts of pornography on children and young people.
This paper (2020) brings together findings from the literature and Our Watch’s research to identify a range of implications and opportunities for the development of an effective response to pornography’s influence on young people’s development of ideas and attitudes about gender roles and identities, sex and relationships.
It identifies opportunities for policy interventions, systemic and cultural change, and for the development of practical tools and resources.
