    In this submission, Our Watch:

    • Highlights the areas in which there are opportunities for primary prevention of violence against women work to be embedded in the legal and justice sectors and practices.
    • Recommends State and Territory Governments strengthen consent laws through the implementation of an affirmative consent model.
    • Draws on the gendered drivers of violence against women to encourage the ALRC to make recommendations that strengthen policies and practices across the justice system to address the drivers.
    • Draws on evidence in Change the story, Changing the landscape and Changing the picture to encourage the ALRC to adopt a comprehensive and intersectional approach to preventing violence against all women in including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, women with disability, and LGBTIQA+ people.
