Our Watch welcomes the ACT Government’s commitment to develop a new Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Strategy. Our Watch prepared this submission as part of the community consultation process.
Submission in response to the ACT Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Strategy Consultation
In this submission, Our Watch:
- provides feedback in relation to the opportunities to strengthen and build on the foundations for prevention and reflections on the structures and processes across government that can support the Strategy, including in relation to governance, monitoring, evaluation and reporting
- offers suggestions to refine the objectives under the Prevention focus area to emphasise a comprehensive, whole-of-population approach addressing the gendered drivers across all parts of society, with explicit language on intersectionality
- provides feedback in relation to centring the intersecting drivers of violence and the importance of engaging men and boys in this work.
